Marta Petersen, Office Manager and Pet Care Concierge: Marta worked in office management for 10 years before taking time off to raise her family (3 daughters, 2 dogs, and 1 cat). Marta has traveled from Idaho to Texas and back to the Northwest before settling in Monroe. Marta enjoys volunteering for her daughter’s activities and her office management skills have brought fresh ideas to Myownly Boarding Kennel. Marta is the office manager, supervises daily operations, and is responsible for the close interactions between the office and kennel staff, of which we are quite proud! When Marta is not busy in the office, you can find her in the kennels providing extra TLC to every animal that stays at Myownly. She truly is involved in the overall coordination of Team Myownly.

Ashley F, Pet Nanny: Ashley is currently working on a BA in Equine Studies with an AA in Business so she can pursue her dream of becoming a horse trainer specializing in problem horses. Ashley has been a member of 4H showing dogs and horses throughout her school years. She has wonderful large dog handling skills and her gentle nature makes her a natural at providing the best care for all the animals at Myownly. She is expanding her talents into the grooming area as well as the front office, so you will be seeing more of her bright smile and helpful nature.

Ashley P, Office Assistant and Pet Nanny: Ashley received her AA in Oceanography and a BA in Environmental Studies from University of Washington . Ashley had been a member of 4H for eight years showing rabbits and participating in performing arts. She is an avid pet lover who currently has three dogs, two ferrets, four birds, and a cat. Her love of animals (large and small) and her eye for details has made her a wonderful partime addition to the Myownly staff. She shares time with NOAH on an apprenticeship basis.

Kyndra, Pet Nanny: Kyndra is a senior at Monroe High School. She enjoys dancing and competitive cheerleading and it is these disciplined activities that makes her work ethic at Myownly shine. She has cared for her own family pets and it is her love of animals that makes her a wonderful caregiver to Myownly’s petguests. Kyndra looks forward to a future in animal or child studies after high school.

Melissa Wiltse, Groomer Extraordinaire - Melissa has been with us for over 13 years. She initially volunteered as a 4-H teen when Myownly housed and cared for (along with local veterinarians) 110 rescued mastiff adults and pups. This grew into a way of life for Melissa. She learned about the boarding kennel business, AKC competition with Bullmastiffs and Giant Schnauzers, followed by her own Clumber Spaniels and German Wiredhaired Pointer. After a time in college she continued her training for agility and obedience with her own Bullmastiffs, perfected her own grooming styles -- and is now an all-breed handler. Melissa is an occasional groomer at Myownly and you may request either show or companion grooming on most breeds from her.

Joel Chriscaden, Maintenance Extraordinaire: Joel has been the backbone of the business in building, remodeling and maintaining the grounds. He recently retired from 35 years in commercial construction and is making wood baseball bats in his shop. His hobby has put him in contact with many local baseball organizations of all levels and he makes gorgeous wood bats one at a time for all age players.

Cathi Tower-Chriscaden, Owner and Animal Grande Dame: Cathi has been Myownly’s business manager, owner, and groomer since 1989. She has 42 years experience in animal husbandry, which has contributed to her abilities at recognizing the special needs of companion pets. Before moving to Monroe, she worked in Lynnwood as a licensed Animal Health Technician for 20+ years. Cathi has owned, groomed, shown, and trained (in Schutzhund, obedience and agility) Giant Schnauzers for 35 years, Miniature Wirehaired Dachshunds and Bullmastiffs for 15 years, and recently entered the Dandie Dinmont Terrier world. All of her dogs are family pets first and show dogs second. Her dogs board next to yours if she vacations, so they all get the same excellent care.

Andy Chriscaden, retired from Myownly: Andy received his AA in General Studies from Skagit Community College in 2010, where he played baseball for the Skagit Cardinals. He drove to Atlanta, GA. where he will spend 2 years working toward his BA at Kennesaw University on a baseball scholarship(D1). He is benefiting from the rigors of higher education, cross training, and practicing independent life skills. After graduation he intends to pursue a career in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. When he is home on vacation, he still helps around the kennel grounds, enjoys caring for the cats best, and assists his dad with wood bat designs. Andy’s home life revolved around the home business since his birth and he has helped with every part of building and remodeling the kennels since he was able to walk!
